Her work will be on view from May 21 – August 3, 2008, in the children’s gallery. The artist will sign copies of her book Sunday, June 1, 2008, 2 – 4 p.m., during the Family Day and First Sunday Drop Into Art activities. The book signing will be followed by a brief reception.

We are pleased to present Kelly Murphy’s lively and humorous original art work for her first book, The Boll Weevil Ball. Written and illustrated by the artist, she weaves a wonderful tale about a small bug in stature who wins a lady firefly over with his very large heart. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the illustrations and delight in its sweet story. Included in the exhibition is Murphy’s sketchbook she used as she developed the concept for her book as well as other framed sketches.
