Danforth Art School features studio art classes, workshops, and special offerings for students of all ages and levels, in a variety of media. In our supportive art community, students learn from professional artist-instructors and from their fellow students. Please see our Student Info page for holiday closings, policies and other general information.

A note from Executive Director, Debra Petke:

“Thanks to all of you for your support over the past year! Danforth Art has a bright future as The Danforth Art Center at Framingham State University, to open in early 2019. I can assure you that Danforth Art School will remain devoted to teaching art to the community. Happily, Noelle Fournier will continue at the helm. And the Danforth Art Museum will again be open as a resource for art school faculty and students. We will have so much more to share in the coming months as we work out the details. Thank you again for sticking with us!” – Debra Petke

About the School at Danforth Art

Housed in a school built in 1907, Danforth Art is located in downtown Framingham just minutes from the Mass Pike. Facilities include 8 sunny air-conditioned studios, 2 ceramics rooms, a photo lab, 3 printmaking presses and a weaving studio. There are student/faculty galleries in the School of Art and access to the Museum’s 10 galleries of changing exhibitions, which provide inspiration and learning opportunities for all students. Free parking is available in the Danforth Art lot, and wheelchair access is by elevator through the red door on Pearl Street.

Danforth Art Faculty consists of over 40 professional artists dedicated to the teaching process. Over 500 classes and workshops are offered yearly for preschoolers, children, teens, adults and teachers, inspiring artists at all levels to explore drawing, painting, watercolor, clay and other materials and techniques. In collaboration with Framingham State University, the Danforth Art offers graduate credits for professional development courses.
