Summer Arts for Children
Weeklong, full-day sessions for children entering or emerging from grades 1-8
June 26-August 25, 2017:
Our popular Summer Arts program for children returns, now from our new home in the Jonathan Maynard Building on Framingham Centre Common! We’re celebrating our fresh start in a newly renovated building with our summer’s theme “Going Places,” an artistic exploration of motion, travel, and things on the go!
Summer Arts At-a-Glance
- Full-day (9 am-4:30 pm) programs provide six hours of daily art instruction taught by experienced, professional artists and art educators.
- Younger children (entering or emerging from grades 1-6) will be Going Places inspired by weekly themes about motion, travel and things on the go, while older children (entering or emerging from grades 7-8) enjoy classes designed around artists’ materials and methods.
- Optional Extended Day morning (8-9 am) and afternoon (4:30-6 pm) sessions and convenient curb-side drop-off and pick-up make summer scheduling a breeze.
- Now offering sunny, air-conditioned studios in our new location on Framingham Centre Common and daily breaks outside the studios for creative challenges and collaborative play.
- Each child goes home with a portfolio of amazing art work, celebrated at Friday student exhibitions, that reflects their developing understanding of the foundations of art and their budding creative voice.
- Half-day programs are available for our littlest artists (entering or emerging from kindergarten) and for teens (entering or emerging from grades 9-12).

Summer Arts Weekly Offerings by Grade and Theme

About Grade Levels: We understand that children vary in their development widely from grade to grade, and offer Summer Arts classes open to a two-grade range so parents/guardians may select which class best aligns with their child’s developmental level. This year, parents/guardians may choose either the grade their child completed in June 2017, or the grade their child will enter in September 2017.

Less structured than classes, Extended Day sessions include supervised activities for different ages, including games, stories, art projects and art videos.

MULTI-WEEK DISCOUNT: Register your child(ren) for more than one week of Summer Arts and you’ll pay the listed price for each registration for the first full week, and receive 10% off each registration for each additional full week. There is no additional discount applied to the short July 5-7 week or to Extended Day sessions. The Multi-Week discount applies to the regular rate or to the Early Bird rate, but cannot be combined with any other special discounts, coupons, or offers. Multi-week discount is available for IN PERSON or TELEPHONE registrations only, and is not available online.
