Birthday Party Workshops

At a Birthday Party Workshop you and your guests will enjoy a one and one half hour art workshop and a private half hour birthday celebration. You won't have to worry about your home or what to do. We will keep your guests busy and each will go home with a reminder of your party, their own handmade piece of art.
Sample Workshops: Clay Mask Making, Clay Animals, Clay Boxes, T-shirt Painting, Medieval Shields, Self Portraits, Painted Wood Sculpture, Puppet Making, Printmaking with Collage, Paper Jewelry Making, Treasure Boxes, Bookmaking, and Aluminum Foil Relief.
Dates & Times
Birthday Party Workshops at the Danforth are available all year and any day of the week, space and instructor permitting. The parties are intended for children turning 5 to 12 years of age, but can be arranged for other ages. 25 children is the maximum permitted per party.
Parties are typically scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays between 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. Reservations can be made a few months in advance or even a few days in advance in an emergency, but space fills up quickly. Call early for best selection of dates and times.
The Cost
The cost of a Birthday Party Workshop for up to 10 children is $150 for museum members and $180 for non-members. Each additional child is $8. There is a Clay Workshop surcharge of $20 per workshop of up to 10 children, or $2 per child for parties larger than 10. T-Shirts are available for $3 each.
The Party
The Party is held after the workshop in a nearby room. You are welcome to serve food, cake and drinks and to decorate the room as you wish. We recommend that you bring a tablecloth (to fit an 8' x 2.5' table). There is also a refrigerator available large enough for an ice cream cake.
Guests should be dropped off and picked up at the party room, on the second floor of the museum in the Museum School. To enter the school please use the side entrance on the Lexington Street side of the building, and go up the stairs to the second floor where you will see a sign that says Danforth Museum School above the doors.

After setting a tentative date with the coordinator, complete the form below and mail with check to The Danforth Museum School, 123 Union Avenue, Framingham, MA 01702. When payment is received, a letter of confirmation will be sent.
