The Danforth Museum of Art seeks to celebrate photography as an art form through this highly selective biennial exhibition of photographers who reside in any of the six states of New England. The 2005 competition was juried by Leslie Brown, Curator of the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University and Blake Fitch, Executive Director of the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA. Fifty-seven photographs from thirty-three different photographers were chosen from the 640 pieces submitted for consideration.
Works were created by classic direct photographic methods as well as by indirect means, including mixed media. During the exhibition, two works will be selected for purchase awards by the Danforth Museum for inclusion in the permanent collection. All works will also be available for sale to the public at this time.
