
There are many internship opportunities throughout the year available at the Danforth Museum of Art. Responsible, reliable and energetic students are needed as curatorial, administrative, teacher and studio interns for the summer program and on an ongoing basis. Interns will receive invaluable experience, and we will work with each intern to design a program that will meet his or her academic needs and experience.
There are a number of internship opportunities available during the year. The following are some of the roles that interns may fill.
Curatorial Interns assist with collections management, handling of artwork, research and collections care.
Museum & Museum School Administrative Interns assist with overall program facilitation. Tasks include answering the phones, greeting and directing new students to classrooms, taking registrations, copying and filing, ordering and stocking art supplies. Exposure to all aspects of school administration. Computer experience preferred (Word, general data base understanding).
Art Studio Interns assist as needed in children’s art classes. Tasks include classroom preparation, supply organization and upkeep, and assistance with children's art activities and in the lunchroom. Interns will create lesson plans. Studio and classroom experience helpful.
Ceramics Studio Interns load kilns, mix glazes, order supplies, keep the studio organized, and assist in children’s ceramics class preparation. Must have some ceramics experience.
Museum Education Interns research upcoming exhibitions and assist in the creation of tours or education programs for children and adults. Interns will assist as needed with preparation for docent training classes. Art History, Art or Art Education major is preferred.

The Danforth Museum of Art is located in Framingham, a town 30 minutes west of Boston. It is accessible by the Boston-Worcester commuter rail line and also offers free parking.
