Lita Judge, Flight School
Framingham Reads Together

We are delighted to partner with Framingham Public Library and other community partners on Framingham Reads Together to provide fun and engaging literacy-based programming on the 2016 theme “Pioneers of Flight: From Kitty Hawk to Outer Space.” Our exhibition of illustrations by Lita Judge from the children’s book Flight School celebrates determination, friendship, and curiosity in the whimsical story of a penguin with the soul of an eagle. This exhibition is supported in part by the Framingham Cultural Council and The 200 Foundation.

Examining the Unstill Life

Throughout art history, still lifes have represented both life and death. In Beautiful Decay, an exhibition of works from the Permanent Collection accompanied by installations by three contemporary artists, opening this spring, paintings, drawings, photographs, and mixed media installation represent the meticulous arrangement and carefully rendered detail of the tradition’s subjects, and the dichotomy of the tradition’s themes. Featured contemporary artists whose works redefine still life are Sarah Meyers Brent, Steven Duede, and David Weinberg. Also on view this spring is Edward Hagedorn: Volcanoes, Riots, Wrecks, and Nudes.
