New England Currents : Clara Lieu

The Danforth Museum of Art is pleased to present the work of Clara Lieu as part of the New England Currents series of exhibitions showcasing work by regional artists.  An artist’s reception will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2006, at 6 pm, in conjunction with the opening of Hyman Bloom: A Spiritual Embrace, and a gallery talk will be held on Wednesday, October 25, at 12 pm. The exhibit will be on view in the Danforth Museum of Art’s Swartz Gallery from October 25 until December 10, 2006.

About the Artist
A recent graduate of the New York Academy of Art with an M.F.A. in Sculpture, Clara Lieu attempts in her work to investigate the way in which individuals relate to each other in group situations, both physically and emotionally. Her interdisciplinary approach encompasses various methods of drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. She conducts extensive visual research as an integral part of her creative process, which leads to insightful and thought-provoking works of art. Website - www.claralieu.com
