Housed in a school built in 1907, the Danforth School of Art is located in downtown Framingham just minutes from the Mass Pike. Facilities include 8 sunny air-conditioned studios, 2 ceramics rooms, a photo lab, 3 printmaking presses and a weaving studio. There are student/faculty galleries in the School of Art and access to the Museum’s 10 galleries of changing exhibitions, which provide inspiration and learning opportunities for all students. Free parking is available in the Danforth lot, and wheelchair access is by elevator through the red door on Pearl Street. The Danforth School of Art Faculty consists of over 40 professional artists dedicated to the teaching process. Over 500 classes and workshops are offered yearly for preschoolers, children, teens, adults and teachers, inspiring artists at all levels to explore drawing, painting, watercolor, clay and other materials and techniques. In collaboration with Framingham State University, the School of Art offers graduate credits for professional development courses. |
