The Danforth provides a special home for artists, art lovers, and art learners. A year-end, tax deductible contribution to our Annual Fund not only supports the museum and school, but builds a strong foundation to create a future home. Consider all that we have accomplished this past year. We created exhibitions and educational programs that explored art and the healing process; promoted visual and verbal literacy for children; and expanded our Teen Docent Program. In addition, we have earned critical acclaim and design awards, and received Cultural Faculties funding from Massachusetts Cultural Council to conduct conceptual design studies for a new facility. What’s more, we successfully completed our Summer Fund Drive to match $150,000 Challenge, and in doing so, we received the largest single donation in the Danforth's 37-year history. The Danforth provides a special home for artists. We house the nation's largest public collection of work by Meta Warrick Fuller, prominent African American sculptor and Framingham resident, and we have placed these works with such artists as Faith Ringgold, Sederick Huckaby, Jacob Lawrence, John Wilson, and others. The newest acquisition to our permanent collection honors the memory of Roxbury-born painter Richard Yarde. Help provide a special home for artists, art lovers, and art learners.
